The starlit cinema and entertainment pod

The pod is the focal point of evenings at Hunter's Moon: a thirty-foot oval room with underfloor heating, long curved leather seating for the whole party, a state-of-the-art Bang & Olufsen television and surround-sound system, and a domed ceiling set with more than a thousand twinkling stars, galaxies and constellations.

A thousand stars overhead

Switch off the lights, and the ceiling comes alive. Fibre-optic stars are arranged into real constellations and drifting galaxies, twinkling gently above you. It is truly magical after dark, and children (and plenty of adults) spend their first evening lying back and working out which constellations they can spot. Look for the Plough, Orion and Cassiopeia.

The room itself curves out from the side of the house like a giant timber-framed pod, with carved oak windows along its length and doors opening onto the garden and hot tub. Underfloor heating keeps it warm in winter, and the long leather bench seating, piled with cushions and throws, means nobody has to fight for the sofa.

Cinema, sport and music

At the far end, a 55-inch Bang & Olufsen widescreen television with DVD player is linked to a stunning surround-sound speaker system. A Sky Q box gives you the full Sky package with the movie and sports channels, plus Netflix, and there is a DVD library if you would rather browse the shelves. The sound system also has a Bluetooth link, so you can stream your own music from a phone, and it can be switched through to the snug if the party splits up.

Film night with the whole family, the big match on a Saturday afternoon, a birthday playlist while the champagne is poured: the pod handles all of it. Because the system is specialist equipment, we ask that guests treat it with care; the details are in our booking terms.
