Transport links
Most guests drive, but Hunter's Moon is easy to reach by train and a short taxi ride, and Bristol Airport is under an hour away. Once you are here, Glastonbury and Wells are a few minutes by car or taxi, and there are buses through West Pennard.
By train
Castle Cary (8 miles)
Castle Cary is the nearest mainline station and the most convenient for Hunter's Moon. It is on the Great Western main line from London Paddington to Exeter, Plymouth and Penzance, with direct trains from Paddington in around an hour and forty minutes, and from Reading, Taunton and Exeter. Trains also run to Bristol via Westbury and Bath. Taxis meet most trains, or pre-book one for the 15-minute ride to the cottage.
Bridgwater and Taunton (25 to 30 miles)
Bridgwater and Taunton stations are on the Bristol to Exeter line, useful if you are travelling from the north via Bristol Temple Meads or from the south-west. Both are about 40 minutes from the cottage by taxi.
Bath and Bristol
Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads are both about 50 minutes' drive. If you are combining a Bath city break with a Somerset stay, a taxi or hire car from Bath is straightforward.

By bus
Bus services run to Glastonbury from Bristol Temple Meads station and from Bath city centre (the 376 Mendip Xplorer from Bristol via Wells, and services from Bath via Wells), and there are regular buses between Glastonbury, Street, Wells and Shepton Mallet. The nearest stop to Hunter's Moon is in West Pennard on the A361, about a mile and a half from the cottage, served by buses between Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet. Timetables change, so check the operator's website before you travel.

Taxis and car hire
There are several taxi firms in Glastonbury, Street and Castle Cary; we will send you our recommended numbers with your booking confirmation. Pre-book for station and airport pick-ups and for evenings out, as taxis can be scarce late at night in rural Somerset. Car hire is available in Glastonbury, Street, Yeovil, Bristol and Bath and at the airports.
Getting around without a car
Once you are at Hunter's Moon you can walk to the Lion at Pennard (about 30 minutes along the lanes) and there are footpaths and bridleways straight from the gate. Bike hire is available in Glastonbury, and the flat lanes and drove roads of the Somerset Levels and Avalon Marshes make wonderful, easy cycling. Glastonbury, Wells and Street are all a short taxi ride, and we are happy to arrange a driver for a day of sightseeing to Bath, Cheddar Gorge or the coast.
Electric vehicles
There are public charging points in Glastonbury, Street and Wells, and rapid chargers on the A303 and M5. Please ask us before your stay if you would like to charge at the house.
